Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council Condemns Alleged Harassment of British Kashmiri Woman

Raja Sikander Khan, Chairman, along with Kala Khan, President of the Kashmir International Outfit, representing the diaspora and the think tank Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council, have expressed deep concern over the alleged harassment incident involving SHO Imran Ahmed of Thothal Police Station, Mirpur, Azad Kashmir.

According to reports, Farkhanda Rehman, a British Kashmiri woman, traveled to Mirpur to reclaim her property from land mafias. Seeking legal assistance, she approached SHO Imran Ahmed for support regarding her property dispute. However, instead of helping her, he allegedly misused his authority and subjected her to sexual harassment.

Denouncing this shocking incident, Raja Sikander Khan and Kala Khan have strongly demanded an independent and fair investigation into the matter. They have called upon the Government of Azad Kashmir, including the President, Prime Minister, and Inspector General of Police, to take immediate notice and ensure justice for the victim.

Expressing serious concern, the leaders stated that such incidents cause immense distress among the overseas Kashmiri community, which has always remained deeply connected to its homeland. They warned that any delay in delivering justice to Farkhanda Rehman could damage the Kashmir cause and weaken the trust of the diaspora in the local administration.

Furthermore, they emphasized the broader struggles faced by overseas Kashmiris and Pakistanis when they visit their homeland. While Pakistan and Azad Kashmir warmly welcome visitors from abroad, returning expatriates often suffer from exploitation, harassment, robbery, and property disputes. Incidents of looting during travel from airports and illegal land grabbing have become frequent, adding to their distress.

Through the Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council, Raja Sikander Khan and Kala Khan have urged the governments of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir to address the grievances of the overseas community. They called for better legal protections, enhanced security, and fair treatment for returning expatriates so that they can visit their homeland without fear and enjoy their stay in Pakistan and Kashmir with peace of mind.

The Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council remains committed to advocating for the rights and security of overseas Kashmiris and will continue to monitor this case closely to ensure that justice is served.
